The Hearts and Hands Behind EYE
Education for Youth Empowerment (EYE) is powered by a committed team of educators, humanitarians, social workers, youth leaders, and community volunteers who believe in the dignity and potential of every child. Our strength lies not in titles, but in the compassion, integrity, and determination that each team member brings
Our work stretches across refugee settlements, rural communities, and hard-to-reach areas, yet our team moves with unity of purpose: building hope where it has been lost and restoring opportunity where it has been denied.
Our Team
Meet the people behind Education for Youth Empowerment (EYE) – community-rooted leaders, educators, and volunteers dedicated to transforming lives.
Our team is a dynamic group of humanitarian professionals, educators, community organizers, and youth leaders who share a common mission: empowering refugee and host communities through education, protection, and sustainable development. Each member brings a wealth of experience, cultural understanding, and deep commitment to improving lives in displacement settings.
We are united by a strong ethic of service and accountability. From program design to field implementation, our team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality interventions that respond directly to the needs of children, youth, women, and vulnerable groups. Guided by principles of dignity, inclusion, and equity, we ensure that every community member is treated with respect and given an opportunity to thrive.
Our work is strengthened by volunteers who give their time, skills, and energy to support learning activities, community outreach, mentorship, and grassroots mobilization. They form the heartbeat of our organization—innovative, resilient, and always ready to step forward where help is most needed.
Together, our team represents professionalism, passion, and purpose. We are committed to building stronger, safer, and more resilient communities, one program and one life at a time

Meet Our Founder
Alex Woja Santino
Founder and Executive Director of EYE
Alex Woja Santino is a humanitarian leader, educator, and community mobilizer whose life and work are deeply rooted in the realities of displacement. Having grown up within the refugee experience himself, he transformed personal challenges into a powerful vision: to ensure that every young person—regardless of their background or status—has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and lead.
Driven by a passion for equity, Alex founded Education for Youth Empowerment (EYE) to bridge the gaps in education, protection, and livelihood opportunities for refugee and host communities. Under his leadership, EYE has grown into a trusted community-based organization known for inclusive programming, youth-centered innovation, and strong community partnerships.
He oversees strategic direction, partnerships, and program development, ensuring that EYE remains locally led, accountable, and impactful. Alex is widely respected for his ability to inspire young people, mobilize communities, and advocate for the rights and dignity of refugees across the region.
His work continues to demonstrate that empowered youth are not just beneficiaries—they are the future leaders and changemakers of their communities
