Restoring Safety, Stability, and Dignity

A safe home is more than a roof it’s a foundation for dignity, security, and hope. For families affected by displacement, disaster, or conflict, losing a home often means losing stability, safety, and a sense of belonging.

Shelter Support

Restoring Safety, Stability, and Dignity for Displaced Families

Our Approach

At Education for Youth Empowerment (EYE), we recognize that a home is more than shelter-it is the cornerstone of human dignity and recovery. Our Shelter Support program helps families affected by conflict, disaster, or displacement rebuild with safety, resilience, and pride. We empower communities to lead the process, ensuring each structure reflects local culture and sustainable practice.

1. Construction and Rehabilitation of Shelters

We support vulnerable families with safe, durable shelters built from locally available materials that meet humanitarian standards.

  • Construction of new shelters for displaced and returnee households
  • Rehabilitation of damaged or unsafe homes
  • Upgrading community structures and learning spaces
  • Use of sustainable, eco-friendly materials

Result: Families regain safe living spaces and a secure foundation for recovery.

2. Training in Resilient and Low-Cost Construction Techniques

We build community knowledge and capacity through hands-on training sessions that empower locals to construct safer, more durable homes.

  • Workshops on climate-resilient housing designs
  • Low-cost building methods for youth and artisans
  • Community demonstrations on shelter maintenance

Result: Local builders and youth gain employment and lifelong construction skills.

3. Provision of Shelter Repair Kits and Household Items

In emergencies, we act fast to help families rebuild and meet essential daily needs.

  • Roofing materials, hammers, nails, and tarpaulins
  • Blankets, sleeping mats, and kitchen utensils
  • Water containers and hygiene kits

Result: Families restore their homes and regain dignity during crises.

4. Coordination and Safe Resettlement

We collaborate with local authorities, humanitarian partners, and host communities to ensure safe, inclusive, and well-coordinated shelter initiatives.

  • Community assessments and settlement planning
  • Targeted assistance for vulnerable households
  • Integration of refugees and host community families

Result: Stronger, more cohesive communities built on shared responsibility and safety.

Our Impact
